BB Camp! Tiring one....

Hi friends, sorry for being away for so long... I had been very busy with BB activities... And I'm going to tell you about the recent camp at Hock Kim Lai Resort on 8th-10th December... Maybe it's better known as Siar Beach, Lundu... It was very tiring, although it was titled "FUN CAMP"...

We were there not only to have fun, but to take our Camping exam too... And that made all the difference...

Me (CPL. Wee), Ah San (SGT. Kho) building our tents (which are covered with ponchos, and we just call the whole tent a 'poncho')... Exam standards cover building tents in 1 hour in groups of 2...

Digging holes for the poles to stick into... Hard work... The area has more stones and pebbles than just earth...

Finally getting the wooden poles to stand... I used my camping skills to tie the hammock onto the tent...

One glance over at the Basic Level campers' Ridge tents (yeah, there are Basic and Advance level exams... I'm taking the Advance Level exam of course! Went through hard times during my Basic Level last year...)... Truly a horrible sight... Ridge tents weren't supposed to be set this way! The side walls and doors have to be somewhat touching the ground by the edges... Not laying on the ground!

Here are the 'poncho' tents built by the Advance Level campers... Nice sight! Neat and tidy...

Apart from building tents, we had to learn to cook too! But not with stoves and ovens... It's with firewood and mess-tins... And each camper must light a fire with only 3 matchsticks! You can get refills, but at the stake of losing points for passing the exam... I used up 7 matchsticks before my fire started to get steady... Wonder how much points I lost...

Then, we are tested on our knowledge on knot tying... I aced it! I started and ended every knot without doubt and left the others stuck at the first three knots... Muahahaha...

Even though we were staying in 'poncho' tents, we still need to be tested on building a Ridge Tent... We discussed with the examiners (officers) and they agreed to let all the Advance Level campers (total of 7 senior boys) to build one tent in 8 minutes... We were excited! With a little running and jumping over Side-Guy lines, we erected this one in 7 minutes! Yahoo! (It looks better than the Basic Level campers' tent, but still not perfect...)

Officers liked our tent! And in the effort of wanting more neat and tidy tents in the area, we were instructed to 'demolish' and 'rebuild' the Basic Level campers' tents (3 tents to be rebuilt...) and since we had 1 and a half hours to finish the job, we did it slowly... We had to collect more ropes and pegs for the tents too...

We (Form 5 school leavers) had a chance to chat with the officers about our future...

Ah! See how much difference on the Basic campers' tents compared to before? These are nearly perfect!

On our last night at camp, we had a group barbecue... That is, barbecuing in groups...

Me and my Group! Guess I wanted to look funny by posing with the oil lamp...

Oh yeah! Let me show you my 'accommodation' for the nights at camp... It was a very low and steady 'poncho' (well, it's the lowest and steadiest of all the 'ponchos'!) I had a bad experience during last year's camp (sleeping with water dripping and splashing on my head all night... It was raining heavily, and the wind kept blowing the raindrops into my tent!) This year, I decided to build a low tent just in case of rain... And on the first day I had 6 pegs around my 'poncho'...

...Which was reduced to 4 only on the last day but it was still standing steadily even after i dismantled the supportive poles! I feel so delighted!

And in the end (actually on the first day), we had our group photo... or rather 'company' photo?

End Of An Era...

Yesterday was the end of an era! SPM has come to an end for science stream students and our class had our last gathering at The Junk restaurant in the evening...

End of SPM? Why am I not happy? I don't feel the least bit happy... Guess I never put stress on myself throughout the whole exam... I was even starting to play a new online game on Friday night... And I got someone hooked to it so much that he didn't prepare for the last paper... Well, anyway, what's done is done, and there's no use crying over spilled milk...

One frustrating matter which happened after the exam was that my phone was stolen by some m****r f***ing b****... i don't wanna even say or think about it anymore...

I am going to be very busy after this... First is the upcoming BB camp at Lundu, then some band performances (continuously for 5 days...), after all this I am going back to work...

So, by now, please don't call my HP number... I will be getting my replacement SIM card soon, but without a phone, I won't be getting anywhere with it... Just waiting to earn money and buy a new one next year...

The Most Annoying Alarm Clock...

Ever slept through the morning even though you had already set your alarm to ring very early? Ever wake up in the morning just to snooze your alarm clock? I don't think you can do this anymore if you had this alarm clock next to your bed... First, when it rings, it spins, creating a very annoying sound like a mosquitoe...

That's only 10% irritating... The other 90% belongs to the part when the propellar takes off and flies around the room! You can't snooze it until you catch it... But it won't be long until it rings again and takes off again... (You'd definitely be up by now...) It's a simple concept of catch it to stop it... (That's really annoying early in the morning... But at least better than late for work...)

Actually, it's gonna be quite dangerous if you don't wake up... Some time after this crazy alarm will run out of power and may drop anywhere... Maybe it will hit your head and make you sleep for another 12 hours... Or maybe hit the floor, costing you another one... (It's selling for RM138 anyway...)

If you sleep with the windows open, it might even fly outside and make you chase it around the garden... Hope this won't happen, or else your neighbours are going to watch you entertain their breakfast...

Bank Soalan And About Nur Amalina

Something worth thinking: (this was posted after a bunch of people were discussing about how great Nur Amalina Che Bakri was in scoring 17A1s for SPM2004... Apparently, this is the best comment of all...)

"and that amalina is lifeless lah. not that im jealous or what lah but, i dont tihnk i want so many A's also. I'd rather be an average student, albeit with a life. I see the people in my sch, the nerds lah, got this one girl she is always carrying so many books and studying and stuff, she is smart yes, but she doesnt realize that in her conquest she has become quite an irritant, she bothers the teachers and stuff with nonsense and is quite rude as well, turns out she is super duper smart but in other aspects she is a failure. Plus, there isn't a BOOK of life to study and excel, it requires you to be an all rounder, not just one smart aleck who knows why bridges dont break when a 1 tonned cow walks on it but when a 5kg baby crawls over it it breaks, but rather, someone who has brains and also personality."

Facts about Nur Amalina:
1) In every semester at school, she always got 100% for Physics and Add. Maths, and the worse mark she even got was 85 (can't remember what subject...) and she felt so sad at that time (she's crazy...).

2) She follows every season of Akademi Fantasia, and quite a lot of television programmes also. She even spend a lot of time online and chatting. and busy with so many competitions. But, her mother was willing to send her to the teacher's house anytime whenever she does not understand something during her revision (and I mean IMMEDIATELY...). She refuses to call the teacher as she find it hard to understand through words of mouth...
